With an aim to demystify, analyse and discuss complex intersections of digital art and media, Berlin collective CO:QUO will kick off their inaugural workshop in ‘Music Futures & Simulacra: Exploring Without a Map’ tomorrow (June 16) at 6pm CEST (5pm in Ireland).
Focusing on NFTs as a tool for musicians to exhibit, promote, and sell their work, as well as the risks and implications that accompany the infrastructure, the session will feature a variety of panelists, including renowned journalist and researcher Cherie Hu, artists Chloe Alexandra Thompson, Mat Dryhurst, VERITÉ and Zola Jesus, and Michail Stangl from Zora.

Cherie Hu is a the founder and publisher of music industry newsletter Water & Music, which tracks innovation and tech trends in the music business. She has also written hundreds of articles on music, tech and finance for the likes of Billboard, Forbes, NPR Music, Music Business Worldwide, Pitchfork and Rolling Stone.
Chloe Alexandra Thompson is a Cree, Canadian interdisciplinary artist and sound designer. Her work engages tactics of material minimalism to create site-specific installations that sculpt droning, maximist experiences out of space and sound.
Mat Dryhurst releases music, research and artworks solo and in conjunction with creative partner Holly Herndon. He teaches at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Music,Strelka Institute and the European Graduate School and hosts discussions with figures shaping 21st century culture on the Interdependence podcast.

Nika Roza Danilova has been recording and performing as Zola Jesus for more than a decade. As a classically trained opera singer with a penchant for noisy, avant-garde sounds, she launched her career with a series of lo-fi releases that pitted her soaring vocals against harsh industrial clatter and hittery synths.
Michail Stangl has been a progressive force in global culture for over ten years, converging avant-garde art, pop and underground music. As Boiler Room’s lead curator and face he contributed in the past ten years significantly to Boiler Rooms phenomenal rise to become the worlds leading underground music platform. Recently he has joined Zora as Head of Culture and Community, helping to develop a leading open-source protocol for NFT and blockchain technology.
